College of Pharmacy Research Day, Spokane, WA, August 12, 2016

Since 2007, WSU’s College of Pharmacy (COP) has hosted a research day that features the research of faculty, graduate students, and summer undergraduate research fellowship students. USTUR/COP student, Sara Dumit, presented her work to model the decorporation of plutonium from a former nuclear worker who was exposed during a glove box explosion. She found that the individual, who had been working with plutonium nitrate at the time of the explosion, was exposed to highly insoluble plutonium, and thus the chelation treatment only reduced his committed effective dose by 2%.
