DoReMi/STORE Workshop on Sharing Data and Biomaterials from Radiation Science, Rome, Italy, January 25-26, 2012

This joint DoReMi and STORE workshop focused on the benefits of, and necessary infastructure for, sharing data and biomaterials from historical radiobiological experiments. It is unlikely that large-scale studies of the radiation effects on animals will be repeated. Therefore, it is important that the data and materials from the original experiments be made available to the scientific community such that they can be reanalyzed in light of modern technologies. The USTUR director, Dr. Sergei Tolmachev, gave a presentation titled, “U.S. Transuranium and Uranium Registries: beyond archiving.” This presentation summarized the unique human tissue and data resources that are available at the USTUR.
